Abby Baker is a Fort Worth native currently residing in Dallas, TX. A musician for over a decade, her music evokes nostalgia for first love and heartbreak. Abby and I worked together to create this 90s-inspired, edgy brand shoot for her personal branding and album artwork.
Working with colored lights and solid backgrounds, the simplicity of the background paired with negative space put all of the focus in these images on Abby. The play in color allowed us to create more moody scenes without having to compromise that simplicity.
Abby wanted to feel powerful, yet still speak to that same heartbreak and creativity she evokes in her music.
We added a little twist to this session by using a metallic background to add some texture and depth to one of the sets.
